The purpose of this study was to examine N'Balance(c), a community-based fall prevention intervention for older adults, exploring physical functioning and balance self-efficacy and leisure self-efficacy. Research suggests that fall prevention interventions with multifactorial, multidimensional interventions should include components of flexibility, balance, gait mobility, and strength (AGS, 2001). As an intervention trial with a control group, results of this study indicate that NBalance(c) has potential as a community-based fall prevention program for older adults, as noted by the N'Balance(c) group's significant improvement in terms of their fear of falling and balance as well as additional improvements in leisure self-efficacy that approached statistical significance over a six-week period. Overall, the results indicated that N'Balance(c) is a promising intervention program that seems to have physical and psychosocial benefits for older adults.
