The purpose of this project was to write a grant requesting funds to expand services for elder abuse and older victims of domestic violence in Orange County. These services would be offered through Safe Options for Seniors, a program of Human Options. Safe Options for Seniors provides individual counseling, group therapy, case management, advocacy, and education for dependent adults and older adults who have been victims of elder abuse or domestic violence. The addition of bilingual staff members to the Safe Options for Seniors program would open the opportunity for monolingual Spanish speaking individuals to receive services. The grant was written in collaboration with Human Options, in congruence with social work values, and supported by empirically supported interventions. This grant was not required to be submitted in accordance with the guidelines of this project.
