摘要註:	台灣人口急速老化，持續朝高齡社會邁進，如能減少失能或需要被照顧的老人人口，社會的負擔及壓力就愈輕，因此，如何延緩高齡者的身心功能老化，積極維護其活{鵀㧻及尊嚴，讓老年人享有健康活躍的老年生活，以提升其生活品質是值得我們關心與探討的議題。基於此，本研究以行政院衛生署國民健康局辦理「民國96年臺灣地區中老年身心社會生活狀況長期追蹤（第六次）調查」資料，採次級資料研究，擷取65歲以上之高齡者樣本，扣除填答不完全者，研究對象共2398人。本研究旨在分析不同個人背景變項的老人在社會參與、憂鬱狀態及生活滿意度的差異；並探討其相關問題。研究結果顯示：不同個人背景變項的老人在社會參與、憂鬱狀態及生活滿意度有顯著差異。有社會參與的老人，其憂鬱傾向較低，生活滿意度較高；高齡者社會參與和生活滿意度呈現正相關和憂鬱狀態呈現負相關。

Reducing the population of disabled or elderly requiring care will lessen social burden and stress. Hence, delaying the deterioration of elders' physical and mental functions and enabling elders to actively maintain their vitality and dignity to enjoy a healthy and active life in old age and improve their quality of life are issues worthy of concern and exploration. In view of this, the Bureau of Health Promotion, Department of Health, R.O.C. (Taiwan) conducted the "2007 (Sixth) Long-term Tracking of the Physical, Mental, and Social Living Status of Middle-aged and Elderly People in Taiwan Survey." Secondary data was adopted in the research, and elders aged over 65 years old were selected as samples. After deducting those with incomplete answers, a total of 2,398 people were selected as the research subjects. This study aimed to analyze the social participation, depression status, and life satisfaction of elders with different background variables and explore the elders' social participation, depression status, and life satisfaction related issues. The results show that the elders with different background variables showed significant differences in social participation, depression status, and life satisfaction. Elders engaged in social participation had a lower tendency to depression and a higher degree of life satisfaction; elders' social participation was positively related to life satisfaction and negatively related to depression status.
