520 $a The purpose of this grant proposal project was to design a fall prevention program for older adults living in the community, identify a potential funding source, and complete a grant proposal to implement this program at Behavioral Health Services, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) located in Gardena, California. Relevant literature was reviewed about older adults, falls, and fall prevention programs. The author utilized current best practices as interventions in the proposed program. After an extensive review of the Internet and grant databases, the funding source selected for the grant was the Weingart Foundation. The author hopes that this fall prevention program will provide older adults with the information and resources required to lessen their chances for an unintentional fall.
