The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore the sexual viewpoints and experiences of women over the age of 65 years, as influenced by historical and social changes throughout their lives. Through in-depth interviews, respondents discussed how they were taught to view sex and who taught them about sex while younger. Respondents also discussed how these teachings of sex and their personal experiences have impacted the way in which they view sex today. Also identified were physical, psychological, and historical factors that have shaped their experiences and viewpoints regarding sex and sexuality.
