The set of innovation case studies presented herein was built gradually over aperiod of years, as instances of educational change of singular interest began tobe accumulated. A special effort was made to obtain studies that would beprepared by persons who were closely involved with an educational innovationbecause they were associated with its evaluation or monitoring, because theyplayed a partial role in its implementation, or because they were there to observethe innovation efforts during their years of evolution.
