摘要註:	人口老化已是世界共同的趨勢，也是近年來頗受各界關心與討論之議題，所以高齡者福利制度之建構，也是社會大眾最為關切的主題。在高齡化與少子化的人口結構中，當老年夫婦的數目大於子女數時，進住安養機構對高齡者也是一種不錯的選擇，因此安養機構有哪些功能能夠吸引高齡者進住，將是不容忽視的議題。本研究目的在探討高齡族群對安養機構的看法、進住意願與選擇機構的決策因素。本研究採用質性研究的方法，分二階段使用半結構方式深入訪談八位平均年齡達80歲的高齡者，第一階段訪談高齡者對安養機構看法、進住意願與選擇機構的決策因素，以及對目前安養方式的看法；第二階段帶領高齡者到台中霧峰鄉某仁愛之家參觀與體驗，同樣問題再問一次，第一階段訪談結果顯示：有六位高齡者完全無法接受到安養中心，且經過參訪安養中心後，依然覺得請外傭在家照顧比較安心，並且認為安養機構都是以賺錢為目的，如果沒有足夠的錢是無法享受妥適的照顧，另有二位高齡者表示如果安養機構環境寬敞、服務人員的專業度夠、價格合理、硬體設備完善、臨近醫療院所、定期舉辦活動等，能讓高齡者感覺如同在家一樣溫馨的話，他們可以考慮。經過參訪後，二位意願大為提高，但都希望生病後再去。本研究發現：大多數高齡者仍傾向在宅老化，至於選擇進住安養機構，認為安養機構有良好的軟硬體設備、乾淨、衛生、臨近醫療院所、定期舉辦社交活動，有助提高高齡者入住安養機構的意願。

Therefore, constructing a social security system for the older adults is an important issue which the public highly concern now. In the combining effect of population with aging and low birth rate, when the number of old couples have exceeded that of their offspring, moving into a nursing facility could be a good choice for the older adults. Thus, it’s important to explore which functions of a nursing facility could really attract the older adults to move in. The study is to explore the older adults’ perceptions of nursing facilities, their willingness to move into one, and the decision making factors of choosing the institution. This qualitative study is divided into two stages: Firstly, in a fashion, the study conducted the semi-structured questions to interview eight old people, whose average age is over eighty, about their perception, willingness of moving into, and decision making factors of choosing a nursing facility, as well as their insights on their current placement. The second stage took these older adults to visit and experience “Pu-Ti Nursing Home”. After the visit, the participants were asked the same questions that were asked in the previous stage once again. The results show that, before visiting the facility, six older strongly refused the idea of moving into a nursing home. Even after the visit, they still felt that it would be safer and more comfortable to stay at home with hired foreign caregivers. The nursing facilities alike, in their impression, are all about profit making. They also felt that without enough money, they would not be able to enjoy good care in such places. Another two older adults, however, expressed interests in considering the nursing home option in the stage one interviews. They were willing to think about moving in, if the facility offered a spacious, home-like environment, professional staffs, a fair living price, well-prepared facilities, a short distance to hospitals, and regular recreational activities. Their inclination toward moving into the nursing home became greater after visiting the facility. Nevertheless, they still wished to go there after they got sick. This study also showed that the majority of the older adults still tend to age at home. Even so, factors of featuring good facilities, hygienic and tidy environment, a short distance to a hospital, and regular social activities would enhance the older adults' willingness of moving into a nursing home.
